Poster Design

The principles of design—emphasis, balance and alignment, contrast, repetition, proportion, movement, and white space—guide designers in creating effective compositions. While these principles are foundational, some impactful designs successfully break these rules to achieve a unique and striking effect.

PRACTICAL & TUTORIAL

Photography Basics

# ISO
  • The sensitivity of the camera's sensor
  • Keep the ISO as low as possible 
  • The higher the ISO, will the more grain and more noise
  • Under light (100)  Under shades (200)  Indoor (400)
Aperture 
  • The size of the opening of the lens
  • The lower the number, the more light gets in 
  • Controls the depth of field
Shutter speed 
  • Slower shutter speed = More motion blur

Project Briefing

Project 1 - 20% - Individual

Timeframe: Week 01 - Week 06
Deadline: Week 06

1. Physical Collage Design (10%)
- Create a themed collage with layers of images, applying design principles and composition fundamentals.
2. Digital Imaging (10%)
- Compost different images into one final output by using Adobe Photoshop. (2x exercise)

Requirements
- Submit progress updates weekly
- Capture screenshots to show step-by-step progression (at least 10 steps) in creating the artwork in Photoshop
- Compile the images, screenshots, and descriptions of each step in a PDF

Submission
- Digitally through Google Classroom
