Reflection

Experience
This typography module has been a valuable and challenging experience for me. Designing my own typeface was challenging but also incredibly rewarding. It pushed me to pay attention to every tiny detail, from the shape of each letter to the space between them. It wasn’t always easy, and there were moments when I felt frustrated, but getting feedback from Ms. Vitiyaa helped me stay on track and improve step by step. Working on my own design allowed me to fully explore my ideas and see how much I could grow. By the end of it, I really started to appreciate how much goes into creating a functional and beautiful typeface.

Observations
As I worked through the tasks, I began noticing fonts everywhere – on signs, in books, on websites. I started to think more deeply about how fonts can influence how we feel about a design. It was fun to see how my classmates interpreted the same assignments in so many different ways. It reminded me that there’s no one right way to do something and that every design can reflect someone’s personal style and perspective.

Findings
What stood out to me the most during this module is that typography is a mix of both creativity and attention to detail. I learned that even the smallest changes, like adjusting the spacing or tweaking a letter’s shape, can make a huge difference in how a design looks and feels. I also realized that I need to give myself more time to explore different ideas and refine my work. Most importantly, I discovered how much I love working with type and how much I want to keep learning about it.
