In this module, I have learned about design principles and elements and how they shape visual communication. I also gained a deeper understanding of visual analysis, breaking it down into three phases: Observation, Analysis, and Interpretation. This process helped me to have a better understanding of each artwork and the true story behind it.
What did I enjoy the most?
I really enjoyed the process of visual analysis, as it allowed me to break down an artwork and discover hidden details and meanings. Studying different new styles introduced me to new techniques and perspectives, which helped me grow as a designer. It was an effective way to learn new skills and develop a deeper appreciation for design.
What did I not enjoy the most?
One of the biggest challenges was when my final outcome didn’t really reach my expectations. Since I am still developing my technical skills, I sometimes struggled to bring my ideas to life exactly as I expected. This was frustrating, and I had to spend extra time researching and learning new techniques to improve my work. While this took longer than expected, it was a valuable learning experience.
What have I learnt about myself through this module?
I realized that I still have a lot to learn in terms of technical skills, and I need to improve my ability to execute them effectively. This means I need to dedicate more time to exploring tools, practicing techniques, and refining my skills.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
My approach to design has changed, now I see the importance of structure and the use of design principles in an artwork. I have become more observant, paying attention to how visual elements work together to communicate ideas.
What are my aspirations?
I aspire to continue improving my design skills and technical abilities so that I can better transform my ideas into reality. I also want to keep exploring different styles and techniques, finding my own unique voice as a designer. I hope to create work that is not only visually appealing but also meaningful and impactful.
