REFLECTION

Experience
Out of all the tasks, I enjoyed Task 1 the most, which was about the typographic system. I really like working with grids and structured layouts. It feels satisfying when everything is in order and lines up properly. It’s like organizing visual information, and I actually find that kind of work very calming.
The other tasks, like the wordmark and the font design, were interesting too. I liked being able to express something personal through design. Those tasks felt a bit more experimental, which isn’t really my usual comfort zone. Still, they gave me a chance to try new things and explore a different side of design.

Observation
During this module, I noticed that a lot of my classmates were quite brave with their ideas. Especially in Task 1 part 2, where we had to extract letterforms from photos, some of them picked really unexpected and creative images. It made their outcomes stand out. I realized that I often choose safer ideas because I don’t want to mess things up. I think this mindset sometimes holds me back from trying something more experimental. I also noticed that when I manage my time better, my work comes out more refined. But if I leave things too close to the deadline, I don’t have enough time to reflect or improve. That’s something I need to work on for sure.

Finding
One of the biggest things I took away from this module is how even small changes in typography can make a big difference. A tiny shift in spacing, angle, or thickness can change how the whole design feels. I also learned that just because something looks simple doesn’t mean it’s easy to make. The wordmark task taught me that simplicity often comes from a lot of careful thinking and editing. When I had to do the random system in one of the exercises, it felt quite challenging. But I know that doing things outside my comfort zone helps me grow. This module also showed me how important presentation is. It’s not just about the design itself but also how you show it. A good presentation makes the whole work look more professional and helps people understand the idea behind it.
