Exercise 1 - Audio Dubbing
- Working Progress -
Audio Breakdown Spreadsheet
Working Steps
- Referring back to the original video, I finish the detailed time column first, and then I finish the breakdown spreadsheet from S]scenes until dialogue.
- I rewatched the movie online for that specific part and recorded all the sound effects I needed.
- I started downloading the sound effects from https://freesound.org/ and https://pixabay.com/
- I organized all the audio files and put them into a folder, then renamed them.
- Lastly, I finished up the left parts, refined the description, and added links.
Audio Dubbing
First Attempt - without dialogue
I showed my first attempt video to Mr. Martin, he said background music is
not allowed, so I replaced them with other ambient sounds.
Editing Progress
- Imported the original video clip first.
- Add in the ambient sound for the whole video. I used two tracks.
- Add in Sound Effects, and adjust the in-point to match the action from the video.
- Add the dialogues I recorded.
- Rename all the soundtracks.
- Edit pinch for the dialogue parts.
- Adjust the Audio Volume of each clip in the mixer panel, making them more natural and immersive.
- Final checking all the soundtracks.

FEEDBACK
Do not use any background music, only ambient and effect sounds, organize
all the soundtracks and folders, and name them well.
REFLECTION
This project also taught me a lot about timing, sound editing, and how small details can make a big difference in the final product. And I got better at using Adobe Premiere Pro. I explored more of its features and learned how to use it more efficiently for audio and video syncing. It was a great experience that helped me improve both my technical and creative skills.
