REFLECTION
This semester’s dissertation was one of the most challenging and stressful academic experiences for me. The process of developing the research, reviewing literature, refining methodology, and continuously revising my writing required a lot of time, focus, and patience. There were many moments of pressure and self-doubt, but through this process, I gained a much deeper understanding of academic research and learned how to think more critically and systematically. Despite the difficulty, the learning outcome was very meaningful and rewarding.
Task 2, the E-publication, was the part I enjoyed the most. It allowed me to fully apply my design skills and creativity, rather than focusing only on writing. Being able to translate my dissertation into a visual and interactive format made the research feel more engaging and personal. I enjoyed exploring layout, typography, and visual direction, and this task reminded me why I enjoy design and visual storytelling.
Task 4, the journal article, helped me become more focused in my research. With a more specific scope and clearer objective, I had to be selective and precise about what to include. This helped me sharpen my arguments and better understand how to communicate key findings effectively. Overall, although this semester was very demanding, it was also a valuable learning journey that strengthened both my academic and design skills.
