- Quote -

My chosen inspiring quote of the day is [ You are not fully dressed until you wear a smile. ]
  • The reason I chose this quote is because it highlights the importance of a smile as an essential part of one’s appearance. No matter how stylish or well-dressed someone is, they aren’t truly complete without a smile. It encourages us to value our inner attitudes and emotions. True charm and attractiveness come not only from outward appearance but from the joy and confidence that a smile expresses. A smile is the simplest “accessory” that costs nothing but can significantly enhance one’s presence and approachability. While fashion and clothing may define style, the true finishing touch is always a smile.

Poster 1 & Poster 2 - Fashion Collage Aesthetic
  • Both posters use a collage-style approach and highlight fashion as a key aspect of self-expression. I like its minimalism style of using a plain or neutral background. Which focuses on the main subjects and creates a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.
Poster 3
  • I like the vintage aesthetic of this poster, which has a nostalgic, vintage magazine advertisement style featuring collage elements, classic fonts, and a muted color palette.

- Design Concept -
  • My idea is to create a poster that merges elements of photocopy textures, collage art, and fashion aesthetics to convey the powerful message that a smile completes one’s “outfit” and boosts confidence. The design combines a minimalist color palette with bold, eye-catching details, drawing viewers' attention to both the quote and the visual representation of smiles.

- Sketch -

  • A hand holding a hanger anchors the design, with the quote, “You are not fully dressed until you wear a smile,” shaped around it. The word “Smile” is bold and arched, mimicking a grin to emphasize its importance. Stylishly dressed figures with muted-toned outfits are collaged below, their heads replaced by oversized, vibrant smiles, drawing attention to the idea that confidence and joy are the best accessories. The minimalist background ensures the focus remains on the contrast between the muted fashion and bright, bold smiles. This design visually represents that while clothing defines style, a smile truly completes the look. It shows the idea of that confidence and joy are the best “accessories” anyone can wear.

- Photography Preparation -
  • I took six pictures of myself in different outfits, which were all simple and basic color
  • And I took one picture of my hand holding a hanger
  • Then collect six laugh mouths and six texture images from the internet

Surrealism:

  • Inspired by dreams and the subconscious mind.
