Reflection

The IVN module has been a rewarding and challenging learning experience, greatly enhancing my creative and technical skills. During this process, I not only learned to use more design and animation tools, but also developed a stronger attention to detail and patience in my work. This module helped me improve my technical design skills while also honing my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

In Tasks 1 and 2, I improved my skills in Adobe Illustrator, particularly in character design and expression. These tasks helped me become more familiar with design tools and encouraged me to experiment and innovate. Although there were technical challenges that sometimes made me feel uncertain, each breakthrough boosted my confidence. Designing Clawmorph in Illustrator taught me how to use shape-building tools and adjust details to enhance the overall effect of my work.

Task 3, the poster design, taught me how to balance multiple creative directions, especially between the requirements of digital photography and typography. Through feedback, I learned the importance of incorporating different perspectives into my work, helping me blend creativity with design requirements.

Task 4, the Webcomic project, was a completely new challenge for me. In this task, I not only learned how to make a comic but also experimented with animation in After Effects. By adding animation to each comic panel, I learned how to trace and transition, which will be helpful in future animation and visual storytelling projects. Although I struggled with time management at the beginning, which caused me to miss the opportunity to revise my cover design, I learned how important it is to manage time effectively and incorporate feedback into the creative process.

Overall, this module significantly improved my technical and creative abilities. I not only gained proficiency in using design software, but I also gained a deeper understanding of how attention to detail and precision impact the final result. I particularly enjoyed the creative challenges and interdisciplinary collaboration in this module, as they allowed me to view my work from different angles and continuously improve. While some tasks were not perfect, these experiences taught me how to balance time, technical skills, and creativity in future projects.
